Going into this year’s Hottest Street Sale, Owen Sound faced the ominous specter of heavy rain (at least, that was Google’s running opinion for a few days prior to the event).
While the early part of the day was mired in cloudiness, those clouds did keep conditions cool for the first portion of the sale, allowing participants to browse in cool comfort.
In the end, the rain never made an appearance, instead the Hottest Street Sale finished off with a very sunny afternoon.
All conditions aside, merchants and organizers came out in full swing, making sure that sale-goers were not left for want.
The Donut Diner made its way up to town from Port Elgin to serve up their signature fluffy donuts in full retro garb.
Food vendors at this year’s Hottest Street Sale had a variety of offerings, from the traditional (hotdogs, fries and treats) to
Elza’s Gourmet was on hand to serve up something we don’t see often enough in the region: Keto-friendly meals.
Rarely was there a moment that the four foot radius of the pretzel stand was without several pairs of feet.
Being positioned on the south-most portion of the Hottest Street Sale didn’t stop the Retro Crepe Cafe from serving up their share of the event’s food.
Emceed by Lauren and Dylan from Our Shotgun Wedding, this year’s musical line-up included Drew McIvor, Emma Wright, Rob Elder (pictured above), Bob Robinson and Madison Galloway. The Great Canadian Swampstormers wrapped the event with their performance.
Just one of a few raffles that took place during the street sale – and it drew quite a large turn-out.
